[17/01/15] As per request, I have now added Pinterest, Instagram, Youtube, and Dribbble icons. You may notice that version 2 is a slightly different gold than than the initial set of icons. However, that pack of social media icons is still available below if you so choose.

These 19 free gold social media icons come in at multiple resolutions of 512px, 265px, 128px, 64px and 32px, but are free for you to use however you wish. All I ask is that you at least show some love and refer back to this site. Hope you enjoy!

What you get in this download

A quick breakdown, so you know exactly what’s included before you grab the files:

  • A set of 19 gold-themed social media icons

  • Multiple sizes for different blog layouts and widgets: 512px, 265px, 128px, 64px, and 32px

  • A consistent “metallic” look that works well for minimalist, dark, or premium-styled themes (popular in late-2000s blog design)

How to use these icons on a blog (circa 2008–2010 era)

Back when many blog themes were built around sidebars and “follow me” widgets, these were common placements:

  • Sidebar follow box: a small cluster of 32px or 64px icons

  • Footer links: a simple row of 32px icons

  • Header bar: 64px icons aligned to the right of your logo

If you’re adding them to a WordPress theme, the typical flow was:

  1. Upload icon images to your theme folder or media library

  2. Add them as linked images pointing to your social profiles

  3. Keep spacing consistent (padding/margins) so they read as one set

Why “icon consistency” matters

Even in 2008, a blog’s credibility was often communicated through small design choices. A consistent icon set:

  • Makes your site feel more intentional and “designed”

  • Helps visitors quickly recognize where to follow you

  • Reduces visual noise compared to mixing styles from different sources

A small request (and why it helps)

These icons are free for you to use however you wish. All I ask is that you at least show some love and refer back to this site. That kind of backlink love was (and still is) one of the best ways independent creators can keep sharing resources like this.
